Deuteronomy 6:5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
God called Moses and gave him the Ten Commandments. The Ten Commandments are the regulations that we should keep while living as the children of God.
The first Commandment is to have no other gods before God.
God created this whole world and us. However, human beings have worshiped other gods instead of Him. They worship reptiles and materials which were supposed to be ruled over by men. We must worship only God and follow His word.
The second Commandment is not to make any idols.
Idolatry means not only worshiping idols such like stone, tree, golden calves, etc. If we have anything that we love more than God is the idol. Do we have any other things fill up our heart? We need to look back on ourselves if we love the world or any worldly pleasures than God and His truth. If so, we should "sacrifice it as a burnt offering".
The third Commandment is not to misuse the name of the LORD.
The name of God itself is God. Even though God is invisible, we should praise Him heartily and worship His holy name as high.
The forth Commandment is to remember the Sabbath and hold it.
In today's era, we are also keeping the Sabbath as a basic spiritual standard; this is Sunday, the Lord's day. On Sunday, we hold worship service and offer the distinguished time, place, and materials up to God. We should give Him the most precious thing, just as He gives us the best thing always.
The fifth Commandment is to respect our parents.
God is pleased when we venerate and obey to our parents. When we obey to our parents who are visible, we can also obey to God who is invisible. Let us respect our parents' words and will.
