"Father, into your hands I commit my spirit"

Sep 11, 2015 02:47 AM EDT

Luke 23:46 Jesus called out with a loud voice, "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." When he had said this, he breathed his last.

This is what Jesus said right before He died. He says here that He commits His spirit to His father, not His worries or trouble. He surrenders His whole life, His spirit to God. We hope our prayers can be like that.

However, it is hard to do that as we keep worrying something again and again. It is hard to rely on God fully. Why? That's because there is disbelief in us toward God. We doubt asking "is it really okay to surrender?" So even someone said he would rather just stop thinking. But there are always worries and doubt in our spirit though we try to forget the issues.

Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

This is the way to cleanse the doubt and disbelief. We cannot make it by our own ability or any human power. But God can do. "but with God all things are possible."

The true faith is to believe God is living and lay everything down. Nobody knows where he or she should go, and others neither. But only God knows. Only God is the way and shield.

In this world, there is nothing we can surrender, because they don't know God is living. They don't know the truth. There is no way to resolve the heavy worries and burdens. It must be very painful to keep going without knowing the way. There is unspeakable suffering in them.

Jesus surrendered His spirit to the Father. When we rely on God, He bears the responsibility for everything. How can we know whether we fully surrender or not? We can know by the peace of heart. There is this peace in one who relies on God.

Let us become wise through relying on God and taste the spiritual peace.
